PUBLIC NOTICE
SPECIAL MEETING SCHEDULED

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting for the purposes of holding a public hearing to solicit public comment on the proposed Schedules, Standards, and Rules to be used for the Johnston County 2019 Property Tax Revaluation.  A copy of the proposed Schedules, Standards and Rules is available for public inspection in the Johnston County Tax Administrators’ Office located in the Johnston County Courthouse Annex at 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina.   See the following public hearing notice. 

The meeting will take place in the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room located in the Johnston County Courthouse, 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.  The public is invited to attend. 

Also, please be advised that the Board will consider an appointment to the Town of Selma Planning Board representing the ETJ area of the Town.

JOHNSTON COUNTY 2019 PROPERTY TAX REVALUATION 

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, located in the Johnston County Courthouse, 207 East Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina.

The purpose of the PUBLIC HEARING is to solicit public comment on the proposed Schedules, Standards, and Rules to be used for the Johnston County 2019 Property Tax Revaluation which were submitted to the Johnston County Board of Commissioners at their meeting on September 4, 2018.  A copy of the proposed Schedules, Standards, and Rules is available for public inspection in the County Tax Administrators’ Office located in the Johnston County Courthouse at 207 East Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina.  The public is invited to review the document between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
October Rezonings/Special Use Hearings

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will conduct Rezoning Petition and Special Use Permit Application Public Hearings for the following cases on Monday, October 1, 2018 at the 6:00 p.m. Commissioners Meeting in the Commissioners Meeting Room, Johnston County Courthouse, 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, North Carolina.  After each rezoning case is heard, the rezoning public hearing, which is a legislative hearing, will be recessed and the Board will render a decision.  In the case of special use district rezonings, the special use hearing will be heard before reopening the hearing for the next case.  The special use hearing is a quasi-judicial hearing where the Board is sitting as judges and will hear factual evidence as testimony.

CASE 12-20 MOD:  Rezoning Petition: Petition to extend a Special Use Rezoning with no specified uses for 24 months on a 5.12 acre tract located on Cleveland Road in Cleveland Township zoned General Business – Special Use District (GB-SUD).  Tax ID: 06E02028C. CASE 18-18: Rezoning Petition: Petition to rezone 3.02 acres located at 3693 NC Hwy 42 in the Cleveland Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to General Business (GB).  Tax ID: 05F02026P.  Owner: Total Properties, LLC.  Applicant: Total Properties, LLC.

CASE 18-19: Rezoning Petition: Petition to rezone .33 acres of a 1.42 acre tract located at 884 Woods Crossroads Rd. in Meadow Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to General Business Special Use District (GB-SUD). Tax ID: 09G13033Q. Owner: Ronald Glenn Dunn.  Applicant: Ronald Glenn Dunn 
Special Use Permit: To allow for a vehicle repair shop.
