JOHNSTON COUNTY AUCTION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners has declared certain property to be surplus and ordered the property to be sold at Public Auction.  The items to be sold are as follows:

The Public Auction is to be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. by Randy Wester Auction Company.  The auction will take place at the Johnston County Sheriff’s Fleet Services Building located at 60 Shelter Way in Smithfield, North Carolina.  A detailed list of items and further information is available by contacting the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 989-5025.

All property to be sold as is with payment due at time of sale.

PUBLIC NOTICE
AUGUST APPOINTMENTS

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be considering the following upcoming appointments.   Please note the deadline to apply is July 24, 2018.  Applicants must be a resident of Johnston County. 

Alcoholic Beverage Control Board – 1 position; 3 year term 

Boon Hill Firefighter’s Relief Fund Board of Trustees – 1 position to fill an unexpired term ending October 31, 2018. 

Emergency Medical Services Advisory Committee – 6 positions; 3 year terms  (4 positions representing Citizens and 2 positions representing active members involved in the management of a first responder fire department.)

Hospital Authority Board of Commissioners – 3 positions; 3 year terms  (Please note the Johnston County Board of Commissioners will nominate the appointments at their August 6, 2018 meeting; the nominations will then be sent to the Hospital Authority for review.  Upon review and recommendation by the Authority, Chairman Jeffrey P. Carver will make the final appointments at the Johnston County Board of Commissioners September 4, 2018 meeting.)             

Johnston County Board of Adjustment – 1 position; 3 year term (New appointees shall be designated as alternate members.) 

Library Board of Trustees – 1 position; 3 year term 

Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board – 8 positions; 1 year term for new appointees or 3 year term for reappointed members.  “No person or immediate family member of a person with a financial interest in a home served by a committee, or an employee or governing board member of a home served by a committee, or immediate family member of a patient in a home served by a committee may be a member of a committee.”

Johnston County Citizens wishing to be considered may submit a short application form to the Clerk to the Board, P.O.
