County Offices Closed on Friday, September 14, 2018

Smithfield, NC -- Due to the anticipated deteriorating weather conditions from Hurricane Florence, Johnston County offices will be closed Friday, September 14, 2018.

Although the Johnston County offices will be closed on Friday, a substantial number of Johnston County's workforce is deemed essential and will be strictly working to support Johnston County emergency operations and the Johnston County Emergency Operations Center.  Those operations include planning, response, and recovery - focusing on the needs of citizens and businesses.  Essential workforce members include, but are not limited to, law enforcement, emergency services, emergency medical responders, 911 communictainos, public utilites, animal services, health services, geographic information services, child support services, buildings and grounds, planning, inspections, tax, finance, human resources, county administratin and legal.

The health, safety and welfare of our citizens is our top priority.  We are making every effort possible to gather critical information, coordinate response activities, and manage response and recovery activities as the situation dictates.
