In response to the Town of Smithfield and state officials rescinding the “Boil Water” notice last night due to favorable water sample results, restaurants, motels, delis, institutions, motels, nursing homes, day cares, and others are now allowed to resume normal operations after implementing precautionary cleaning procedures. The affected establishments have been contacted by the Environmental Health Office regarding proper cleaning procedures and should be currently operating. We wish to thank the business community, town and state officials for their cooperation and efforts during this event.
