The Johnston County Tax Office has won an Outstanding Jurisdiction award for their appeals tracking and mapping used by the Board of Equalization and Review.  These awards were announced on November 15, 2012 at the North Carolina Assocation of Assessing Officers Conference in Asheville.  Johnston County Tax Office won in the medium jurisdiction category.

The award is given to counties that have programs or projects that save money, prevent future expenditures, or provide better customer service.  The awards committee also considers the portability of the project to other counties.
