The National Fire Incident Reporting System (NFIRS) Version 5.0 is designed to help state and local governments develop fire reporting and analysis capability for their own use, and to obtain data that can be used to more accurately assess and subsequently combat the fire problem at a national level.  This field report was developed to assist fire departments in capturing data at the scene of an emergency.  The data can be transferred to the proper NFIRS form or entered into a computer-generated incident report.
