Fee Schedule

As of July 1, 2005, any documents received via mail with refunds, will not be refunded if the amount is less than $1.00 due to County policy. Those with refunds greater than $1.00 will be sent a check from Johnston County. Also, there will be no fees for cancellations of deeds of trust. D.O.T. Right-of-way Plans
$21.00 for each original or amended plan and profile sheet and $5.00 for each additional page.

Two or more instruments (multiple) instruments:
A document consists of multiple instruments when it contains two or more instruments with different legal consequences or intent, each of which is separately executed and acknowledged and could be recorded alone.
$10.00 for each additional instrument

Excise Stamps
$2.00 per $1,000 ($1.00 per $500) of consideration.

Marriage License
$60.00 for issuance of license

Delayed Birth Certificate
$5.00 birth to be registered in another county

$20.00 papers prepared and registered in same county, with one certified copy.

Certified copies of Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates
$10.00 A birth certificate may be issued, without charge, to any person over the age of 62 years.

Amendments to Birth or Death
$35.00 ($10.00 to Register of Deeds, $10.00 per certified copy, $15.00 with check or money order to Vital Records). To have it expedited (within 3 days) it is $30.00.

$0.10 cent per page for local calls. For long distance calls $0.10 cent per page plus an additional $1.00.
