Subject:  Renewal of Software Contract
Date: March 14, 2012

Letter to the Editor,

Recently, I renewed our software contract with Aptitude Solutions of Maitland, Florida.  This results in savings of $153,450.00 for the county.  The contract is for 5 years.

Since 2005, we have saved a total of $453,450.00 in software expense.  Since the implementation of software in 2005, our customers can search and record documents faster and easier.  As soon as the clerks record the documents they are immediately on line. The Secretary of State of N.C., Elaine Marshall, recognized the achievements in the office by awarding our office with the “The Honorary Keeper of the Constitution”.  This accomplishment has made the Johnston County Register of Deeds office a model for public record keeping in NC.

In the next couple months, we will be receiving software upgrades.  The new software is called Acclaim*.  Acclaim, is a land records recording system from LPS Government Solutions revolutionizes workflow for County Clerks and Recorders.  Acclaim’s one touch scan and return fosters an exceptional customer counter experience.

By using this software company, it has made our office automated and was able to return $1.7 million of unused funds back to the county for the past 9 years.  I will continue to be a steward of the citizen’s tax dollars.  My doors are always open to you.

Sincerely yours,

Craig Olive
