Register of Deeds Craig Olive Appointed to NC Funeral Service Board

President Pro Tem Phil Berger has appointed Johnston County Register of Deeds Craig Olive to serve as a member of the North Carolina Funeral Service Board.

The NC Funeral Service Board administers and regulates the funeral service profession in North Carolina. The Board reviews applications, administers examinations, licenses qualified applicants, and regulates the professional practice of the licensees throughout the State.  The Board also holds misconduct hearings.

“I consider it an honor to be appointed to serve on the Board of Funeral Service,” says Craig Olive. “Register of Deeds across the state work closely with Funeral Homes to ensure death certificates are recorded promptly and properly.  I look forward to bringing my knowledge in technology, workflow and customers’ needs to the Board and to make it easier for the citizens of North Carolina to obtain their loved ones’ death certificates.”

“One of my goals during my time on the Funeral Service Board will be to bring automation to the procedure of creating and filing death certificates.”
