Moderna Vaccines Now Available for Ages 6-17 at the Johnston County Public Health Department

Smithfield, NC – Following the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) broadened their recommendation of COVID-19 vaccines for individuals 6 through 17 years of age to include the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine product.
The Johnston County Public Health Department will begin offering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to individuals ages 6-11 and 12-17 on Friday, July 8, 2022.
Children between the ages of 6-17 are now eligible for:
- A two-dose primary series OR
- A three-dose primary series for immunocompromised individuals
Both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines for all individuals ages six months and older are offered at the Johnston County Public Health Department Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
