Hurricanes bring with them other threats and risks to your home and property. Contact your insurance company or agency and see if you are covered.
Standard homeowners insurance DOES NOT cover flooding. Whether you are a homeowner or renter, you will need a separate flood insurance policy.
Flood insurance requires a 30-DAY WAITING PERIOD. Do not get caught in a bind by waiting, especially while we are in hurricane season.
Think of other property you may need to insure outside of your home, such as your vacation homes, vehicles, boat, etc.
