Three Steps to Hurricane Preparedness Infographic

Unique times call for unique measures.

Hurricane Prep is importnt every year, but it is vital this year. With the current global pandemic, here are some things to keep in mind as you plan for possible emergencies this year.

1.  Assemble 2 Emergency Kits

Prepare a stay-at-home kit & an evacuation kit. In addition to basic supplies, personalize your kit to your needs, include disinfectant, soap, hand sanitizer, etc, to protect against COVID-19.

2.  Gather A One-Month Supply of Medication

Make sure to have a month's supply of your prescription medications, as well as other over-the-counter medications (cough supressants, fever reducing medicine), and medical supplies you may need.

3.  Having A Set Plan For Where You Will Go

It is alwys important to have a plan in place on where you will go if you have to evacuate, but the pandemic emphasizes that importance this year.  To avoid being infected with COVID-19, have a plan where you might stay that prevents you from being exposed to the public and those carrying the disease.  We suggest reaching out to friend or family living less-affected areas.  If that is not possible, then we suggest looking at hotels, airbnbs, or other housing options that are out of the storm's path.
