Understanding The Forecast Cone Infographic

What DOES it Tell us?

The probable track of the CENTER OF THE STORM up to 5 days out from its current position.

About two-thirds of the time, the center of the storm will remain in the cone.

What it DOESN'T tell us!

The cone is NOT an indicator of the size of a storm.

The cone does NOT show how large the storm will become.

The impact of a storm is NOT limited to the area within the cone.
