Any house, apartment, townhouse or mobile home may be rented, as long as the owner is willing to lease to the family, and the unit is in compliance with HUD’s Housing Quality Standards.
A family may also choose to remain in their current residence and rent in place if their landlord agrees to accept a HAPP Voucher.
The rent amount must fall within HUD’s rent limits for this low-income program.
