Mindful Meditation |
Speaker: Tim Hughes, Mental Health Department Tim Hughes has been a staff psychologist with Johnston County Behavioral / Mental Health for over 20 years. He will present an introduction to cultivating mindfulness and other techniques to experience our inner peace. Stress is the wear and tear the body and mind experience in reaction to everyday tensions and pressures. How we respond emotionally determines how much damage is done. Mindfulness allows us to tap into a vast reservoir of inner peace that exists within each of us. This pool of peacefulness is simply layered over with conditioning, thoughts and expectations. Tapping into this resource throughout the day simply involves returning to the breath. This re-awakens us to the present moment, freeing us from the build up of stress and tension.
