The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will be considering the following upcoming appointments. Please note the deadline to apply is March 20, 2018. Applicants must be a resident of Johnston County.
Airport Authority – 3 positions; 4 year terms
Bentonville Community Building Board of Trustees – 5 positions; 2 year terms
Board of Equalization & Review – 3 positions; 4 year terms (Applicants must reside within one of the following Johnston County Board of Commissioner Districts: District 2, District 5, and District 6. One position will be appointed to represent each District.)
Fire Protection District Commissions – 2 year terms. There are 3 positions available for each of the following Fire Districts: Archer Lodge, Blackman’s Crossroads, Elevation, McLemore, Micro, O’Neals, Strickland’s Crossroads, and Wynn; 2 positions available for each of the following Fire Districts: Boon Hill, Meadow, and Wilson’s Mills; and 1 position available for each of the following Fire Districts: Bentonville, Beulah, Newton Grove, and Selma.
Johnston County Board of Adjustment – 1 position; 3 year term. (New appointees shall be designated as alternate members.)
Johnston County Health Board – 1 position; 3 year term (Applicants must be a licensed Veterinarian.)
Local Emergency Planning Commission – 13 positions; 2 year terms (Applicants must represent one of the following areas of interest: State or Local Elected Official; Law Enforcement; Emergency Medical Services (EMT); Health (Public, Local or State); Environmental (Professional, Local or State); Transportation (Trucking, School, Evacuation or DOT); Media (Television, Radio, or Print); Community Groups; and General Public.
Nursing Home/Adult Care Home Community Advisory Board – 6 positions; 1 year term for new appointees or 3 year term for reappointed members. “No person or immediate family member of a person with a financial interest in a home served by a committee, or an employee or governing board member of a home served by a committee, or immediate family member of a patient in a home served by a committee may be a member of a committee.”
Pleasant Grove Community Building Board of Trustees – 5 positions; 2 year terms
Veterans Services Advisory Board – 3 positions; 3 year terms (Eligible applicants must be a veteran. One position represents Johnston County Board of Commissioner District 3 and applicants for this position must reside within District 3. The remaining two positions are at-large.)
