Amending Mass Gatherings Ordinance G.S. §153A-45, Chapter 18 Article III; County Policy
The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing, to be held in the Commissioners’ meeting room, Johnston County Courthouse Annex, Smithfield, N.C., on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible for the purpose of receiving public comment on proposed Amendments to the Mass Gatherings Ordinance. All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views during this public hearing. Citizens who would like to address the Board regarding this hearing but have concerns with physically attending the meeting, may email those comments to Clerk to the Board Dana Cuddington at dana.cuddington@johnstonnc.gov. Disposal of Surplus Property
The Johnston County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution at their regularly scheduled meeting held on Monday, July 20, 2026, declaring certain personal property surplus and authorizing for the property to be sold by electronic public auction. The property consists of the following:
- 2019 Bomag 972 Compactor
Asset # 014647
Serial # 101570231003
The County will be using GovDeals (http://www.govdeals.com), an on-line auction service provider, for the disposal of this property. The auction will begin on August 3, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and end on August 13, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Registration is required for bidding. Surplus property will be sold “as is”, all sales final, cash, certified check, or money order only. Johnston County makes no express or implied warranties of merchantability of any surplus property, or part thereof, or its fitness for any particular purpose regardless of any oral statements that may be made concerning the surplus property or any part thereof. Johnston County reserves the right to reject any and all bids or remove the property from auction at any time. Please review the terms and conditions before bidding.
