A note from the Director

Thank you for agreeing to serve as a Chief Judge, Judge or assistant for the Johnston County Board of Elections. Your service is essential and a vital contribution to the election process. You are our eyes and ears on Election Day and serve as important ambassadors for the Johnston County Board of Elections. Let us know your thoughts on improving our procedures; we are always open to your suggestions. We want to make this job as easy and efficient as possible for you.

Please take the time to read and understand the information on this website prior to Election Day. If provides important information that is crucial to a fair and impartial election. If at any time you are unsure of a procedure, or have an issue or question concerning the law, please contact the office at 919-989-5095 and we will be glad to help you.

What's New

Preparations for the 2026 General Election are underway at the Board of Elections. With the mandated changes passed by the General Assembly, we have been busy making sure all of the requirements are implemented for the March Primary Election.

Voters will be asked to show photo ID when voting in North Carolina.

Times and Dates:

October 15th - October 31st

 

Voting locations are open from 8:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 28th.

 

 

 

We Need Your Help

We have several precincts in need of workers. We need your help in finding civic-minded, reliable, computer-capable individuals to help you in your precincts. Time is of the essence! Training begins soon! If you know of someone who you think would make a good precinct official, please have them fill out an application using the link below.
