385 West Transmission Improvements

Increasing water transmission capacity in the Powhatan area

The work will consist of:

• the construction of approximately 8,000 LF of 8-inch and 12-inch water transmission main along Fire Department Road, Harrison Road, and Powhatan Road from an existing water line near the Fire Department Road – Main Street Intersection to an existing water line on Powhatan Road,
• and approximately 17,700 LF of 16-inch and 20-inch water transmission main along Gordon Road and US Highway 70 Business from an existing water line near the Wilson’s Mills Road – Gordon Road Intersection to an existing water line near the Pony Farm Road – US Highway 70 Business Intersection.

The project includes:

• two (2) bore and jack crossings of Gordon Road,
• three (3) bore and jack crossings of Powhatan Road,
• and one (1) bore and jack crossing of Fire Department Road, Harrison Road, GLP Oneway, and North Tech Drive.

Additionally, the project includes three (3) 16-inch fusible PVC horizontal directional drill crossings of existing streams and the installation of a master meter vault along Gordon Road.
