County Offices Closing Early on September 13th

Smithfield, NC -- Due to the anticipated deteriorating weather conditions from Hurricane Florence, Johnston County offices will close at noon on Thursday, September 13, 2018.
Although the Johnston County offices will close at noon, a substantial number of Johnston County's workforce is deemed essential and will be strictly working to support Johnston County emergency operations and the Johnston County Emergency Operations Center. Those operations include planning, response, and recovery - focusing on the needs of citizens and businesses. Essential workforce members include, but are not limited to, law enforcement, emergency services, emergency medical responders, 911 communications, public utilities, animal services, health department, department of social services, technology services, geographic information services, child support services, buildings and grounds, planning, inspections, tax, finance, human resources, county administration, and legal.
The health, safety, and welfare of our citizens is our top priority. We are making every effort possible to gather critical information, coordinate response activities, and manage response and recovery activities as the situation dictates.
