Requirements for Adopting a Pet from the Johnston County Pet Adoption Center

 

You must be at least 18 years of age with a government-issued ID to adopt a pet from the Johnston County Pet Adoption Center. You do not need to be a Johnston County resident. Fees are listed below.

The Pet Adoption Center requires all adopted pets to be spayed or neutered to help reduce the number of animals in the Johnston County without homes. The Pet Adoption Center does not offer spay/neuter services but does offer a $100.00 voucher for spay/neuter services with selected participating veterinarians.

Adopting a Pet from the Johnston County Pet Adoption Center

 

  1. Call 919-934-8474 to schedule an appointment during business hours (Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  2. Select an animal.
  3. Come in and meet the animal and complete the brief paperwork.
  4. Pay the fee. Adoption fees are waived for Veterans. Spay/neuter deposit and/or voucher fees still apply.

We welcome all inquiries and individuals interested in adopting a pet. If you see an animal on our website that you are interested in adopting, please contact the Pet Adoption Center at 919-934-8474 as soon as possible for an appointment.
