Johnston County Encourages Public Input on
Comprehensive Land Use Plan
Smithfield, NC – Johnston County has begun development of a new, comprehensive land use plan to guide growth and development for the next 20 years. As part of this process, we are engaging the public to obtain feedback about growth and development within the County in order to clearly define the vision of our community for years to come.
The survey, developed by the Johnston County Planning Department and Nealon Planning, can be completed by clicking here
or you can fill out the attached form and drop it off in person or by mail to the Johnston County Planning Department, 309 E. Market Street, Smithfield, NC 27577. The survey will remain online, and can be returned to the Planning Department, through August 13, 2021.
We look forward to hearing your opinions on community character, land use, growth management, transportation,the local economy, resource conservation and the overall vision for the future of Johnston County.
The County is asking for the public's help to get the widest distribution possible for the survey. After completing the survey we encourage residents to forward it to their friends and family that live, work, visit or do business in Johnston County.
