JoCoAlerts provides critical time-sensitive information to the public during emergencies. Alerts will be delivered to mobile, business, and home phones, as well as, text messages to mobile phones and email addresses. Those registered in the system will be notified of possible health and safety hazards, such as, severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, public health events, and disruptions in infrastructure. Additionally, guidance will be shared on how to prepare for and stay as safe as possible during these hazardous events, such as, evacuations, sheltering in place (staying in a safe, secure location), and other various actions to take.
During the registration process you will have the option to sign up for emergency notification messages wherever you specify, such as your home, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages and more. JoCoAlerts has the option for multiple addresses to include not only your home, but work and school locations within Johnston County as well, keeping you informed of localized emergencies.
You pick where, you pick how. This system can be expanded to suit your needs and ensure our community in Johnston County stays informed. And if your contact information or preferences change, you can always log into the emergency alert system or call our number to make updates.
