Our paramedics and EMTs are held to very high expectations. We hold integrity as the highest of our expectations. Our paramedics and EMTs face challenges that demand them to do the right thing, rather than doing the popular or accepted thing.
They take care of patients having emergencies. They understand that these are emergencies based on the patient's standard, not ours. We take care of patients from both ends of the socioeconomic scale and everywhere in between. Our paramedics and EMTs treat each patient with the respect that an employee would afford to a family member, without exception.
Our paramedics and EMTs work nights, days, holidays, weekends, and in all types of weather. We work at times of impending disasters and face them head-on.
Our paramedics and EMTs believe in providing excellent care and quality service to all we serve.
There are three District Supervisors on duty at all times in our county. The districts are divided geographically into the Southern, Central, and Western areas of the County.
District Supervisors routinely respond to various emergency calls and carry out a host of administrative duties. They are generally responsible for:
Medic 1 - Central District
Medic 2 - Western District
Medic 3 - Southern District
Medic 4 - Northern District
Our District Supervisor positions are filled with our EMS Captains. Our EMS Lieutenants, who operate as our field training officers (FTOs) are trained to operate as District Supervisors and backfill the Captains when needed.
Johnston County EMS operates out of ten stations located throughout the county. We are located in Benson, Clayton, Princeton, Smithfield, Selma, and Overshot. In addition, we have units that are stationed at several area fire departments, including Corinth Holder Station #1, Pine Level, Kenly, Micro, Thanksgiving, Wilson's Mills Station #2, and Cleveland Station #2.
Johnston County EMS has a fleet of more than 25 ambulances and other response vehicles. All EMS vehicles operate with a replacement cycle to maximize usage while keeping state-of-the-art technologies on the street. The primary-response units are Type-III modular units and feature cab extensions for crew operability.
EMS District Supervisors operate Chevy Tahoes, or similar sized SUVs, as quick-response vehicles. These units are outfitted with a full array of BLS and ALS equipment, along with supplies for incident management.
