Moved House Permit Requirements

House move from another county into Johnston County

  1. Written approval by local certified building inspector or professional engineer declaring the structural integrity of the house being moved
  2. Upon approval of #1 above, submit both the approval letter and a sealed foundation and footing drawing with a completed permit application to the Johnston County Land Use Center for review and permitting
    1. Also, you will need to submit a site plan along with an Environmental Health permit and well permit or public water application
    2. The site plan should contain the following information:
      1. Lot lines and length of lines
      2. Location of moved house on lot
      3. Location of septic tank and lines and the length of the lines
      4. Distance between house and septic tank
      5. Location of well and distance between well and house and well and septic system
      6. Location of driveway

 

House move within Johnston County
