August | Extreme Heat Safety

1. GIVE your pets and animals plenty of fresh water and a place in the shade to cool off.

2. PROTECT your skin. APPLY sunscreen if outdoors. DRESS in light-colored, loose fit, breathable clothing.

3. PROTECT those most vulnerable to the heat: children and the elderly. They need to LIMIT outdoor time.

4. Take FREQUENT BREAKS in a cool, air conditioned space. LOOK OUT for signs of heat-related illness.
