2023/24 Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study: 45-Day Review

 

In accordance with North Carolina General Statutes, Chapter 162A, Article 8, Johnston County contracted with Willdan Financial Services to perform a Water and Wastewater System Development Fee Study for Fiscal Year 2024.  The law provides very specific guidance to public water and sewer providers to assess System Development Fees (SDF) for the recovery of capital costs associated with new development and system growth.  

 

 

The report will be available for public inspection and review for at least 45 days on Johnston County's website and at the Johnston County Public Utilities Office located at 309 E. Market Street, Smithfield, NC.

The Johnston County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive public comment and consider the report on June 5, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Commissioners Meeting Room located in the Johnston County Courthouse at 207 E. Johnston Street, Smithfield, NC.  Comments received by Chandra Farmer via email or mail prior to May 1, 2023 will be presented at the public hearing.
